Hi, we’re Ali and Marie — best friends turned founders of meminio. We are so glad you have found us.

Marie and Ali met while their children, Ted and Maisie, were at pre-school together in 2010, soon becoming great friends. Marie lost her mum at a young age, leaving her without memories of her. She felt the effects of this loss most after having children, as she was able to see how many memories she might have been missing out on. Marie and Ali really bonded over the importance of treasuring our children’s memories and keepsakes, and these conversations moulded the beginnings of meminio.

The concept first struck Marie when she discovered a vintage suitcase case in her grandmother’s home. She began using it to store her daughter’s precious keepsakes. Ali had also been thinking about ways to keep and share memories with her children. This is why family has always been at the heart of
everything they do. The first memory cases ensured that children were celebrated within the home uniquely and beautifully. At its foundation, they wanted to create something beautiful and of high quality to keep children’s childhood memories alive forever. Great friends soon became business partners, and we launched meminio in early 2016.

The name comes from ‘memini’, which is the Latin word for remember. It seemed fitting as the business is centred around cherishing and sharing memories with loved ones. In the early days, we sold at many fairs, trying to build a customer base and get the word out. The cases changed over time, until we decided on the beautiful colours and linings we use today, offering a place to capture your memories in luxury. It then seemed natural to go beyond this and make a timeless collection for everyone in the family, from the bride and groom, husbands and wives and grandparents. Somewhere to keep the memories and moments alive forever.

Our range now includes gifts for any occasion from births and christenings, milestone birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. Capturing and storing all those
important memories in beautiful ways.

remember when,

Marie & Ali
